FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Training & Renewal

This page is intended for TRAINING PURPOSES only. It is designed to help students visualize the National Airspace System via the use of 3D representation.

Instructions

Each of the sections below shows layers of airspace, starting with Class B, C, D and going to Class E (surf and 700ft), Military Operations Areas (MOA) and Restricted airspace.

To load up each model, click on the thumbnail in order to interact with the airspace. Here are a few notes:

  • Scroll using your mouse to zoom in/out
  • Hold SHIFT + CLICK on the model to move it around
  • CLICK (hold) on the model to rotate around the 3D axes.
  • If needed, there is a toolbar on the right side of each model (click on the < symbol)

Note that the models are approximately 40MB each and may take a few minutes to load. Please be patient.

Class B, C, D

This model displays Class B, C, D.

Important: each airport is represented by a “tube” that corresponds to the airport’s elevation above sea level. Each airspace is displayed above that airport’s elevation.

Color Codes

Purple airports are untowered 
Blue airports are towered
Class B is light blue
Class C is light purple
Class D is dark blue

Class B, C, D, E (surface only)

This model displays Class B, C, D and E from the surface only (orange color).

Important: each airport is represented by a “tube” that corresponds to the airport’s elevation above sea level. Each airspace is displayed above that airport’s elevation.
